Happy Valentine's Day!
Handmade M&M goody bags were gifted to residents, Artists, and our visitors!
An Evening to Remember
Elisha and I had a wonderful time serving our couples on Valentine's Day. Several couples shared their stories of how they met and got engaged. One couple's engagement anniversary actually lands on Valentine's Day, which makes this holiday even more special!

An entrée of braised beef short ribs was complemented with sides of asparagus and scalloped potatoes. Dessert selections included red velvet cake, cupcakes, and ice cream. A big 'thank you' to Dining Arts for putting together this feast!

Pat Wade serenaded us with her beautiful piano melodies during dinner. Here are just a few snapshots from this wonderful evening!
A Special Surprise in the Mail
Precious Valentine's Day cards arrived from Child's World Learning Center and Two Cities Church Community Group and warmed our hearts!
Entertainer Spotlight: Ian Bengamin
Ian, a pianist from Charlotte, NC, is a true showman with how he performs, engages, and connects with his audience. He has spent many years performing on cruise ships, and now says he is "retired" from life at sea. We were so happy to have him for his February show, "Songs in the Key of Love," which features some of the greatest and most romantic love songs ever written. He included pieces by Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and more.
Mardi Gras Fun!
One of the most popular traditions is finding a tiny baby in king cake on "Fat Tuesday." To be safe, we did not actually hide a baby in our king cake, but we did discuss the story of why a plastic baby is traditionally hidden in king cakes. New Orleans tradition says that whoever finds the baby in their slice of cake will be granted luck and prosperity!
Creative Corner
Personalized Tote Bags
Residents selected their favorite stamps and patterns to use on their canvas bags. We were thankful to have the nursing students in training that day to provide extra hands-on assistance!
Air Dry Clay Figures
We experimented with air dry clay this month, making figures by using a wide array of tools and stamps.
Paper Heart Door Hangers

Super Bowl Sunday
Some residents and second shift Artists came together to watch the big game and enjoyed a spread of snacks and drinks set out by Elisha in the afternoon. Congratulations to the Chiefs and their fans for their back-to-back wins!
Did you know?
Super Bowl LVIII was only the second Super Bowl in history to go into overtime!
