Show your love for books this February by renewing your membership or by becoming a member of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library. The 2024 campaign for the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library is underway and we have had a great start to the campaign. The Friends funded many wonderful projects over the past year and we can do it again this year. Please consider being part of a special group of loyal and passionate supporters that make the Friends' important work possible!

Additionally, the Friends of the South Pasadena Library Bookstore welcomes your donations! We accept donations of the following items in GOOD CONDITION:

  • Fiction and Non-Fiction books (both hardback and paperback)  
  • Children’s books
  • DVDs and CDs
  • Vintage books
  • Games and puzzles

 At this time we are unable to accept:

  • Damaged books
  • Foreign Language books
  • Records


Donations can be dropped off at the front desk of the library during open hours, or can be placed in bins by the rear library entrance on Fairview Avenue. For large donations, please call the library ahead of time at (626) 403-7330, or email the Friends at spplfriends@yahoo.com

Monthly Silent Auction

The Friends of the Library Bookstore’s February Silent Auction features beautiful art books along with vintage volumes. Three of the books on offer are:

In October 2019, The Museum of Modern Art celebrated its 90th anniversary with the reopening of its extensively renovated and expanded midtown campus. Published to accompany the reopening, MoMA Now presents a rich chronological overview of the art of the past 150 years, culled from the Museum’s permanent collection of almost 200,000 objects across 6 curatorial departments.

The Last Chance Book Sale on the first floor is open during Library Hours. Last Chance items are available for 50¢.
