The FMSC event was a success!

OSLC Adults and Youth gathered to pack for Eswatini.

In total we packed: 147 Boxes, 31,752 Meals, and Provided 86 kids a daily meal for a year!!

Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries, has been approved for an 8-week sabbatical from April 2-May 27.

What is a sabbatical? The ELCA describes: "Sabbaticals are not vacations. While a sabbatical may include both planned activities and unplanned periods of rest, its focus is on reconnecting with one's sense of call, vocation, and spiritual journey. At the heart of a sabbatical is rest, disengagement, study, exploration, reflection and prayer."

Prior to her time away on sabbatical, all leadership responsibilities will have planned coverage and programs will go on as planned. Please engage in conversation with your children and youth to explain this time that Leisha will be away. Please be clear with them that she will be returning at the end of that time away to resume her regular role. Thank you in advance for all of your support!

Gumbo & More - You are invited!

Come together after the 10:15am worship service for a great time together with a gumbo and rice lunch, a fun game of “heads and tails” where you can win big, purchase your own King Cake and bid at the NOLA-themed silent auction.

Meal: Andouille Sausage Cajun Gumbo and Bread.

$10/person, $40 max/household

Heads and Tails: Buy 4 sets of Mardi Gras beads for $20. When it’s time to play, you’ll get very simple instructions. The winner will take home half of the pot!

$20 to participate.

Silent Auction: Bid on NOLA themed baskets that include: Café Du Monde coffee/beignets/mugs, alligator sticks, Zapp’s kettle chips, Aunt Sally’s Creole Pralines, King Cake Mix, Slap Ya Mama hot sauce and seasoning and more!

King Cake: Take home your own King Cake for $10 and see who finds the baby in the cake! Check out the tradition of the King Cake (celebrating Epiphany and Mardi Gras) below! Cost for a King Cake is $10.

Now Showing: "Enchanted"

ALL ages are invited for Now Showing! Join together for a themed fun night of snacks, "Enchanted", and friends!

Those 5th grade and younger need to have an adult attend with them.

$5 person, $20 max/household.

Includes "Enchanted" themed foods: Hot dogs (NY hot dog stand), apples and caramel (like the witch's apple) and Hershey's kisses (true love's kiss)

Wear your favorite fairy tale outfit or comfy pajamas and bring a sleeping bag, air mattress or some other item to cozy up on.

GIFT Camp

(Generations In Faith Together)

This year Camp Wapo is offering a Generations In Faith Together Camp. This is a 3-day, 4-day, or 6-day* program, where multi-generational family groups can come enjoy camp. With a focus on allowing grandparents and their grandkids to do camp together, this camp is open to all generations, from parents to aunts and uncles, even cousins or friends. The program includes meals, lodging, and fun camp activities that range from swimming in the lake, campfires, crafts, bible studies (both together and separated into age groups), and much more.

Palm Sunday Brunch & Silent Auction

Our Youth are proud to provide Palm Sunday Brunch with a Silent Auction! Proceeds will help send our youth to New Orleans for the ELCA Youth Gathering and Kansas City, Missouri for a mission trip.

If you would like to donate a silent auction item or basket, please do so by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 20. Please Leave donations with a note of who it's from, contents (if applicable), and value.

Mark Your Calendars for Serving Dinner!

Any adult (18+) family member of students is welcome to fulfill this role! Please plan to be at OSLC by 5pm to serve from 5-5:50pm. Then from 5:50-6pm to sell any potential leftovers.

During Lent (Feb 14 and on), serving will be from 5-6:25pm.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled time, please try to find another family to help out in your place.

Mission Trip 2024

Those signed up for the 2024 mission trip to Kansas City, MO, please note that we have a meeting on Sunday, February 18th, 11:30am-12:30pm in Room 122 with $200 due ($100 if scholarship was requested).

Kick off the week with Breakfast Club at OSLC! Bring your friends and enjoy a breakfast, time to hang out, a devotion and prayer before school.
