Upcoming history and culture classes emphasize women and their legacies in fashion and art. | |
On Friday, February 16, 2024, Helen Lee will lead a walking tour of the Costume Institute's fall 2023 exhibition Women Dressing Women at the Met (Course 12433), which is closing in just a few weeks. Explore the creativity and artistic legacy of female fashion designers from the turn of the twentieth century to the present day.

At the end of the month, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, Ginny Poleman debuts Gilded Age Huntington Family: Scandal, Properties, and Art Collection (Course 12348), an online lecture centered around the controversial and influential Arabella Yarrington Worsham, who married into the Huntington family of Gilded Age New York.
Keeping with the Gilded Age theme, Poleman returns on Thursday, March 21, 2024, to lead Gilded Age Supermodels and Influencers (Course 12350), a study of the alluring “professional beauties” who were often immortalized in New York City statues by the era's preeminent sculptors and who served as fodder for the press and grist for readers across the country and the world.
