It’s the week after Catholic Schools Week, and wow, what a week it was! We truly were “United in Faith and Community.”
Our families and special guests joined our students and adults to unite in Faith as we celebrated a special Mass with Msgr. Orsulak. Later in the week, we again came together to enjoy liturgical music with Mrs. K.
We truly united with the community both inside and outside of the walls of JPII.
As always, our staff came together to plan a fun-filled week, that included special programs like Life Skills Olympics, and Minute to Win It. Shh… don’t tell our students that these fun events were designed to hone their occupational therapy and life skills. They just thought it was fun!
We are grateful for our friends in the community who donated food for our game night and sleepover: Chick-Fil-A (Wyomissing), DoubleTree by Hilton Reading, Chef Tim and Redner’s Markets, and Wawa. No one left hungry! During the week JPII’s Board provided breakfast for staff and parents provided lunch to show our staff their sincere appreciation for all they do each day.
We welcomed Tails of Valor Paws of Honor to our school, making new friends with their volunteers and puppies. We even collected our change to donate to their program.
We caravaned to 222 Dutch Lanes for our annual bowling field trip. It’s so much fun to see all of our students, regardless of ability, participating. While getting a strike was nice, the best part of the morning was watching our students laughing and cheering on one another.
We look forward to continuing to unite with our community through our April 27 Legacy Gala. Be sure to save the date – you don’t want to miss out on this very special evening!
