River Roundup Update 2024!

34th Annual River Roundup Recap

The 34th Annual River Roundup was held January 4-6 2024 and was a big success.

This year there were 437 registered guests from all over the country who enjoyed the many AA speakers, an “Old Timers” meeting, marathon meetings, workshops, meals, a comedy show, Bingo, a golf tournament, Al-Anon speakers, archives and lots of fellowship.

Bingo was held in the Starview Room this year as we had almost 70 players!

There were 44 bowlers on Friday night and Saturday morning 21 Golfers teed off at the Laughlin Ranch Resort Golf course.

The 50/50 raffle prize winner received $1,531.00.

241 people enjoyed the Saturday evening banquet. 85 dinners were served Friday night, and 68 folks attended the Al-Anon luncheon.

On behalf of the committee, we would like to thank the attendees of the River Roundup. Without you we wouldn’t been able to raise the funds necessary to keep the River Cities Central Office open and running smoothly.

None of this could have happened without a lot of hard work from a dedicated Planning Committee and all of the volunteers who helped at the Roundup. Thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you!

The early accounting suggests that we will be very close to the financial numbers we had last year. We will share those numbers in next month’s Newsletter after we finalize them.

I personally want to extend a big THANK YOU, to the amazing people of this year's River Roundup Planning Committee for the work and commitment throughout the whole year that it takes to put the Roundup together!

I especially want to thank Geri B. for stepping up to the role of Acting Chairperson at the Roundup, and the rest of the committee for their understanding and cooperation when at the last minute I had to leave out of state because of a family emergency.

Again, Thank you to all of our Attendees, Committee Members and Volunteers for helping us to serve AA!

In Love and Service,

Chuck B.

34th RRUP Planning Committee Chairperson
