Unemployment Insurance and Labor Market Review Snapshot

San Joaquin County (SJC) unemployment rate is up to 6.8%, which is higher than both the State of CA at 5.1%, and the USA at 3.7%. Non-farm payroll employment increased by 216,000 to 157.2 million in all 50 states and the District of Columbia in December 2023. Employment continued to trend up in government, health care, social assistance, and construction, while transportation and warehousing lost jobs.

Revolving Loan Fund Online Application


The Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) is a non-profit initiative designed to foster the economic growth of small businesses within the San Joaquin County region. It achieves this by offering competitive loan packages to eligible businesses, with the condition that the principal place of business must be situated within San Joaquin County.

WorkNet Online Application


WorkNet has introduced a new Online Application process for convenience, but it is recommended that applicants visit their local WorkNet to consult with the counselor of the day for pre-eligibility assessment and an estimated timeline. The application process may take 3-6 weeks, with the duration varying based on the applicant's city of residence.

Economic Development Association's Business Center


The Business Center of the Economic Development Association is now open! The Business Center will be accessible to the public, providing businesses with a dedicated space for meetings, interviews, and computer usage. Interested parties can book the room by reaching out to the EDA at eda@sjcworknet.org
