Show Your Love and Support

This Valentine’s Day, show some love to Pierce County’s pets in need while supporting our life-saving programs and helping bring families together!

💌 Share the love with friends and family by sending them a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day e-card. Choose from four heartwarming cards and even schedule delivery for February 14! Each card represents your kindness and compassion while providing food, comfort, and medical care to the pets in our care.

😻 Send a shelter pet a Valentine to make their day extra sweet! Simply visit one of our adoptable pet's profile pages, and click the "Send Me a Valentine" button. Make a gift of $20 or more and our staff and volunteers will bring them a special treat, along with extra love and cuddles.

Adoptable Dog of the Month: Nala

Nala is full of endless love—if you let her, she’d happily give you kisses 24/7! She is the ultimate shadow, always by your side, and finds a comfy spot in every room you go.

She would thrive as part of a family that is OK with being a single-pet family. New situations and visitors can be overwhelming for Nala. In a calm, low-foot-traffic home, with time and patience, Nala will blossom into the most wonderful, loyal companion.

Meet Nala

Nala is taking a vacation from her foster home and will be at the shelter from February 13-16. And during that time, we’re offering $14 adoption fees for all pets! Come visit to meet Nala or many of the other adoptable dogs this weekend.

Brrrr... It's Cold Out There!

As the colder weather settles in, we naturally start preparing our homes, cars, and wardrobes for the season. It’s also a great time to think about how to protect our furry friends from the winter chill!

Vaccine and Wellness Clinic

At the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, we recognize the importance of making veterinary care accessible to all pets. In partnership with Petco Love, we provide no-cost (while supplies last) and low-cost vaccines, parasite preventatives, and microchips to income-qualifying community members during our monthly Vaccine and Wellness Clinics.

Our next Vaccine & Wellness Clinic will take place on Saturday, February 22. Appointments open the Tuesday before the clinic.

For clinic offerings and vaccine information, visit our website's Vaccine and Wellness Clinic page.
