January sure was a cold month! It was a little quieter in the building post-Christmas but we certainly enjoyed our Now Showing movie night! Check out the pictures here and then the details on the last movie in this series below under "All Ages".

CYF also hosted a night of service at Feed My Starving Children. It always feels great to fulfill our call to serve and love our neighbor and FMSC is such a great place to do that together!

January 22-26, Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries attended the ELCA's Extravaganza in Louisville, Kentucky. There, Leisha took classes to continue her learning in the field. Classes included:

• Partnering with Parents: Practical Ideas for Coming Together
• Trauma Informed Youth Ministry
• Faith Beyond Youth Group
• Here We Are Now: Entertain Us (Or Actually, Don't)
• Can We Imagine a Thriving Future?

In addition to classes, Leisha was able to participate in worship, networking, exploring resources, engaging in the culture of Louisville and even received an award from the CYF Network in recognition of 25 years of ministry this year!

Leisha looks forward to all the ways she can implement her learning into the CYF life at Our Saviour's!

Who: All ages (Those under grade 6 must have a caring adult attend with them.)

Time: 6-8:30pm

Where: OSLC's Gathering Space

Bring: Sleeping bag/air mattress/bean bag to watch from

Wear: Dress in the color of your favorite "Inside Out" character or as one of the characters themselves!

Cost: $5/person, $20 max/household

Food Included: Food will be themed with the colors of the characters!

Sign up: Sign up on the CYF Board in the rotunda at OSLC or by emailing Leisha, Director of CYF Ministries. Sign up is not required but helpful for food planning.

Littlest Ones Play Dates

We are excited to welcome children aged birth to 4 years old and a trusted caregiver to the (FREE) "Littlest Ones Play Dates". We will meet select Thursdays 9:30 am-11:00 am October-May.



Littlest Ones is a time for the littlest amongst us to have a great play date and a time for parents and caregivers to connect with one another. Join together for 10 minutes of circle time – story, song and more led by Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries – followed by play time. Parent/Guardian or other caring adult required to stay and be responsible for watching over the little ones as they play with age-appropriate toys, activities, and other fun!

No need to sign up - just show up!

Open Youth Room

Confirmation open youth room is in need of adults to be present in the youth room. The purpose of this adult is so the youth have a place to feel safe and cared for. The adult is asked to simply be present and redirect any unsafe physically or relationally) behavior or interactions.

These dates are Wednesdays, 5pm-6pm.

Mission Trip - Harrisburg, PA

Meeting & Payment Due

For those registered for the 2025 Youth Mission Trip, we have a meeting on Sunday, February 16th for participants (parents not required) following the 10:15am worship service in the youth room.

At this meeting, the next payment of $300 is due ($150 if the participant is on a scholarship). Participants will receive some more information regarding the trip and we will be creating our group covenant.

Mark Your Calendars for Serving Dinner!

As a reminder, each week a Confirmation Family is scheduled to help with meal service. A reminder email will be sent on Tuesdays to the families who are scheduled to help the following Wednesday. If you are unable to attend your scheduled evening, please find another family to switch with. In the event that you are unable to switch with another family, please contact Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries, ltays@oursaviourslc.org

Any adult (18+) family member of students is welcome to fulfill this role! Please plan to be at OSLC by 5pm to serve from 5-5:50pm. Then from 5:50-6pm to sell any potential leftovers.

Meals will be offered from 5 pm - 6pm for $5 per person

Lighthouse Ministries Youth Group

Who: Current 9th-12th Graders

What: Weekly gathering for fellowship, Bible study and worship

Where: OSLC Youth Room

When: Sundays, 9am-11:15am

Why: To grow in our faith, relationships with one another and continue down our journey together

Bible Study: "Confident Christian" where we'll explore different world religions and religious groups and view them side by side with our own ELCA beliefs. Learning and exploring why we believe what we do.

Bring: Bible

Provided: Breakfast treat (donuts, muffins, juice, etc)
