How to Grow Your Circle of Influence

Having influence is big, right? Influence allows you to have more income, it allows you to have more impact, it allows you to have a better life. So how do you grow your circle of influence and become more influential around your colleagues and your friends that you currently have in your life right now? In this video, Anthony Trucks uses the analogy of a house to describe how you can start to expand your influence.

210 Attitude Quotes That Will Empower You In Your Life

Life is filled with inevitable ups and downs and it’s our attitude that determines how we ride the wave.

Are you more of a glass half-empty or half-full type?

Our attitudes, whether negative, positive, or somewhere in between, affect every aspect of our lives from how we view the world to how we show up at work, in our relationships, and most importantly, for ourselves.

It’s no secret that maintaining a positive outlook not only makes us happier and healthier, but it’s also the key to turning our dreams into reality.

"Leading from the Middle" by Scott Mautz - Book Reviewed by TLP Cohort #10 Member

Scott Mautz has provided a great foundation for anyone who has found themselves leading from a middle management perspective. He does a great job of referencing real-life “role plays” for when leaders find themselves needing to lead “Up, Down, and Across,” a phrase that is repeated often in the book. Mautz dives into how to not only manage but lead those who answer to them through good times and times of change. He also explores how to interact with those above you when you need them to lead but there is a void. Finally, he discusses leading teams of peers or other middle managers. He touches on everything from day-to-day operations, to how to effectively compliment those above, below, and around you. I would highly recommend this book to others in my cohort, and any other cohort. Middle management is one of the most underrated positions, but many times can have some of the most impact across an organization. To top it off, there are very limited resources to train those who find themselves here.
