Lower Providence Library News!

Happy February Friends!
This month we are so excited to announce that the Friends of the Library Cabin Fever Bag Sale is back! Starting Saturday, February 15, through Saturday, February 22 you can fill a bag with used books for only $5.00!!
This is a great opportunity to stock up on books to help you get through the final months of winter. There is nothing better than hunkering down with a cup of coffee or tea and a good book when it is cold outside.
The Friends of the Lower Providence Community Library is a non-profit group of volunteers, formed in 2000 to help fundraise and support the library. Since its founding, the Friends of the Library have raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the library, and continue to be an integral part of our organization. All proceeds from the Cabin Fever Bag Sale directly support the library!
2024 Library Statistics
Last month, I talked about what I read in 2024, however this month I want to talk about how YOU used the library in 2024.
In 2024 106,427 people visited the library to check out books, attend programs, and use the library to work, study, and access the internet. Patrons checked out 243,036 physical and digital items from the library. The most popular items were The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah (Adult Fiction), A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (Young Adult Fiction), The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney (Children's Fiction), and Oppenheimer (Adult DVD). The library hosted 1,016 programs for children, teens, and adults and 18,671 people attended! Finally, 1,014 NEW library cards were issued in 2024, and we are so happy to have you here with us at Lower Providence Community Library!
2024 was a great year at the library, and we are so excited about what we have in store for 2025!
Happy reading and see you at the library!
