2025 Contractor Matchmaking Event - March 11th

Join Building Advantage and our partner signatory contractors for an afternoon of industry relationship matchmaking and networking. This event is open to local signatory general contractors and subcontractors who will have the opportunity to network during timed increments. After the session, join us for drinks, appetizers and games at X-Golf.

2025 Building Advantage Construction Career Fair - April 30th

Building Advantage’s annual Construction Career Fair seeks to promote career paths in the commercial construction industry. This year, we’re moving our annual Career Fair from November to a new location and date to align with National Apprenticeship Day on April 30th, 2025. Through a variety of hands-on activities from local union trades and contractors, high school juniors and seniors can better understand the differences and benefits of each of the building trades. We’re proud to promote Union registered apprenticeship and the benefits that this career path brings to individuals and our community. 

MPS Counselors Meeting Hosted at meJATC

Building Advantage partnered with the Milwaukee Electrical JATC to host the Milwaukee Public Schools high school counselor's retreat. The counselors heard opening remarks from Dajen Bohacek (National Electrical Contractors Association - NECA, Milwaukee Chapter), John Jacobs and other staff from IBEW Local 494. Dan Large and Todd Kueny lead the counselors on a tour of the meJATC classrooms and shared helpful information about the electrical apprenticeship application process. WRTP|BIG STEP also explained how they support individuals and the union construction industry with education and training opportunities. By providing counselors with valuable apprenticeship information and resources, we’re creating more opportunities for students to pursue successful careers in the union building trades.

Celebrate Women in Construction Week at Connecting to Build

Join empowHER at Steamfitters Local 601 for their fourth annual Connecting to Build event on Thursday, March 6th from 3pm-6pm. Hear from keynote speaker Lauri Rollings, celebrate the 2025 Ally of the Year honoree and get to know other women and allies in the industry.
