Are We Tired of Winning Yet?
It has been an amazing past month with President Trump in office. I enjoy waiting to see what each day brings. Isn’t it fun to hear the term DOGE used as a verb? I am so thankful to finally see the deep state being dismantled. We need to start to DOGE in Arizona! Let’s start with the Katie Hobbs budget fiasco!
I want to just give you a few updates:
First, the Nominating Committee wants to remind you that our elections for the PVRW Board will be happening this fall. If you are interested in becoming a board member for 26-27, please talk to a member of the nomination committee and let them know. The committee chair is Mary Reitz.
Second, our budget draft for 2025-26 has been approved by the board and will shortly be on our website under the members’ section. Please look over it and we will have a membership approval vote in our March meeting.
Third, I would like to mention the Celebration of Life for Paula Linker last month. It was a day that made all of us marvel at the amazing political giant Paula was in our community and PVRW. It was a day when talking about politics was the RIGHT thing to do! We are still raising money for ASU - Center for American Institutions in honor of Paula. Thanks to all of you donating and participating in club raffles and fundraisers, PVRW donated $3000. We hope you can add to this total if possible, HERE. Our board has also created the Political Elephant Award, to be given to a club member who demonstrates Paula’s devotion, energy, and persistence needed to get a Republican across the finish line and WIN! We miss you very much Paula. I’m glad you got to see a Republican Red Wave.

Blessings to you all. Our next meeting will be the week of St. Patrick’s Day so wear your green! I know I will need to go searching in my closet to get past all the red, white and blue!

As I write this, I’m sitting outside next to our Koi Pond thinking how blessed we are to live in Arizona. This time of year, it’s wonderful!
Our February luncheon was amazing, and it was so fun to see full tables all the way to the back of the room. I sincerely hope you all enjoyed our speakers. Both Casey and I appreciated how you all made your reservations on time and early. It made it so much easier for both of us.
Thank You!

Our March luncheon will start with a energetic presentation from our Nominating Committee Chairman, Mary Reitz. She and her committee will be encouraging each of you to apply for a Board position. The election will be held at our November meeting with
installation at the December meeting.
Mayor Lisa Borowsky will share her State of the City message as she will almost have held office for her first 100 days. She and our new City Council have certainly been busy making necessary changes to improve our City.
Some of you may not know our third speaker, Josh Lyons. He is the District Director for Congressman Abe Hamadeh and served as his Campaign Manager. Many of you know of the long hard battle that Abe fought to win this Congressional race, and he will be speaking on the events “Behind the Scenes of a highly contested Campaign”.
Several members have reached out regarding the delivery of the books purchased from our January speaker, Loren Spivack. As mentioned in his presentation, his new book is scheduled to be delivered mid-March, which I confirmed with him today. At that time, he will bulk ship the books to my home (no one has been charged for shipping). I will notify everyone when I receive them, and you can either pick them up at my home or I will bring them to the April meeting. Please contact me if you have questions.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve each of you, and thank you for making your lunch reservations early. It really helps us!
See you in March.

You blessed Family Promise with clothes, food, toiletries, and more - thank you for so many generous donations to this truly worthy homeless shelter!!
In March, we will collect for Childhelp - an organization that equips foster families with items needed to help their foster children. From basics like clothes, toys, and school supplies to strollers, highchairs and Christmas gifts, Childhelp is critical to the foster family success.
Childhelp has some specific need for children 8-12 years old as well as food donations. Thank you so much for your help!

Let us recognize that God created everything, he owns everything, and he sets the true standard of justice.
Dear Lord, give us the strength and courage to persevere when times are difficult and help us to see our role in Your greater plan.
