From the moment she was born, Emmie’s journey was marked by resilience. She entered the world with multiple heart defects. Born prematurely and fragile, she needed time to grow strong enough for heart repair surgery—to learn to eat, to breathe on her own and to take her first steps toward a healthier future.
For her first four months, Valley Children’s Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) became her home, where she received expert care and unwavering support. Thanks to the dedication of her care team, Emmie underwent a successful heart surgery—one that gave her the chance to thrive.
Today, Emmie is a vibrant kindergartener, full of energy and joy. She loves to dance, practice gymnastics and embodies the spirit of the compassionate team that helped her in those early days.
This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate the love and generosity that make stories like Emmie’s possible. Thank you for the heartfelt support you provide to children in need.
