The Federal Transition

On January 31, 2025, clinical practice recommendations developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the treatment, care, and prevention of HIV, hepatitis C virus, and sexually transmitted infections were taken offline. Although these important resources have been reposted, access to federal-level clinical and scientific information is uncertain as the federal transition continues.

Clinical providers and others can always freely access evidence-based, state-of-the-art, peer-reviewed clinical practice guidelines at www.hivguidelines.org. In addition, clinicians in New York State have access to:

  • Clinical consultations with specialists through the Clinical Education Initiative’s (CEI) Phone Line (866-637-2342), a dedicated toll-free number to address clinical inquiries on HIV, sexual health, hepatitis C virus, and drug user health.
  • Clinical cards that provide information on recommended screening guidelines, lab tests, monitoring, and more.
