PATTY WOODS-GAWLIK
My professional art career started during my high school years with encouragement from my high school art teacher in 1972. I have been a commission artist since then, for over five decades, encompassing many genres and mediums. My most popular themes were hand painted bucolic scenes with animals, flowers, ribbons with birds, and vineyards in Italy, often with a child’s portrait. Each client request was unique and I quickly learned that personalization of art for my clients created steady work for over 50 years. The decorative arts and creative craftsmanship involved in my professional art career paid the bills.
I want to share what I have learned through teaching and encouraging people to develop their own creativity. It’s about building community, networking, and passing on skills that could work into a career.

LISA COOK
Lisa Cook was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and raised in New Orleans. She spent much of her childhood in the shadow of the infamous French Quarter. The visual maelstrom of female strippers and dancers in sequins, jewels, and stage costumes informs her painting, as does her extensive collection of vintage burlesque memorabilia and posed pin-up models of the 1940’s.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts in Studio and Fine Arts from Loyola Marymount University. Lisa is the author of “Consecrated Ground: Funerary Art of New Orleans”. (1998), an extensive collection of her black and white photographs of historic New Orleans cemeteries and grave monuments.
| |
Her painting techniques evolved as she experimented on her own with media and artist's tools, refining what succeeds for her work and discarding what does not. The result is an undeniably unique artist's voice and vision. Lisa is driven with an artist's passion to encounter, and in painting, this exploration results in acknowledgement of beauty in what is often maligned or passed over.
Lisa started designing and making jewelry out of her Los Angeles, CA apartment in 1982. Over the years and throughout her travels, she gathered a collection of curiosities and used them to develop a line of jewelry with an emphasis on craftsmanship and affordability. The collection grew exponentially, as has her fan base. There seems to be a never-ending demand for locally made, affordable environment-inspired jewelry, designed with a sense of humor. She is inspired by nature, many cultures and traditions as well as the organic and fluid lines of the art nouveau era.
Lisa lives in Lake Arrowhead, CA, with her wood-crafter husband Graeme Gale, six cats. lisa@llcook.com | http://llcook.com.

TERRY LYNN WILLIAMS
Terry Lynn is a romantic who makes romantic jewelry. Her life-long love of craft and her partnership with artist/husband John Arthur have inspired her to create a line of unique one-of-a-kind hand crocheted jewelry.
Impassioned by a wide array of fantastic colors and John's Romantic Fantasy paintings, Terry weaves a world of beads and stones and baubles fit for peasant, gypsy or Queen. The love for her art is stitched into every piece with an eye for whimsy and the fantastic. Her 'School' was at her mother's side, learning a craft and love of color that would serve her and delight others for years to come. Fancy something romantic or fantastic? Let Terry create a custom piece of jewelry especially for you.

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” ~ Ansel Adams | |
JOHN TOBIAS
I began expressing myself through photography as a Peace Corps volunteer in Afghanistan from 1970 through 1972. I roamed the crowed bazaars of Kabul in search of photo opportunities which presented themselves generously in the form of faces rich in character, framed in colorful and exotic scenes painted with a timeless brushstroke.
I now have a catalog of nearly 1000 images that beautifully capture that peaceful sliver of time in Afghanistan’s history prior to 40 years of war. I also have an extensive portfolio of photographs from India, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Jamaica, Europe and the United States. These include landscape, portrait and street photography. I pride myself on strong composition, rich color presentation of intriguing places and faces.
I have been a licensed addiction counselor (LAADC) for thirty years with a MS degree in Counseling. I specialize in group therapy, and often use my photography as a therapeutic tool. My wife, Laurel, and I reside in Crestline, CA with our dog and cat, Fiona and Taji. I have been making Eye Contact with the World for 50 years. I intend to continue until the final click of the shutter.
