Opening Prayer
REST
Jesus, I am stressed.
Help me to accept your invitation to come and receive the rest I need.
Help me to willingly release my fear, my worries, my agenda and my to-do list.
Ease the tension and replenish my body.
Silence the voices of doubt and speak your words of truth.
Remove the heaviness of my day and pour out abundantly into my life.
Fill me with your peace, joy and love.
Fill me until the overwhelm is consumed by your grace and my life reflects the beauty of resting in you.
Amen.

Calling for Facilitators for
Engaging Gender Complexity
Province V is accepting applications for “Engaging Gender Complexity” (EGC) Facilitators.
EGC is a new ministry created to structure an organized, on-going initiative to educate communities about Gender Complexity. Individuals and communities who are welcoming prevent isolation, violence, and death based on the misunderstanding of and prejudice against the gender-diverse. This project hires facilitators and coaches to support communities engaging in the life-changing and potentially life-saving work of understanding gender complexity.
Facilitators will develop the skills to support individuals and communities who want to create welcoming spaces for all people around gender diversity.
- Each facilitator will be granted a scholarship to attend two courses through Bexley-Seabury Seminary’s Pathways for Baptismal Living. Through those courses, facilitators will gain the knowledge and skills needed to lead conversations in their local ministry contexts.
- Courses will be held on the following Sundays: Mar 2/9/16/23/30, April 6/13/27, May 4/11/18, June 1. (5-6:30 pm ET / 4-5:30 pm CT)
- After the initial coursework, facilitators will be supported in small groups, led by a trained coach. During these sessions, facilitators will create opportunities for engaging their local, worshiping communities across Province V, hosting conversations and sharing resources. A stipend will be paid in two phases: after the planning phase and after the program phase. Registrations for courses is valued at $400. Cash stipend for the full program is $1400.
Province V will be hiring up to 18 facilitators for this work. This grant-funded position is accepting applications through Feb 20, 2025. We encourage both cis-people and people who are gender diverse to apply.
See more details and the application.

The Right Reverend Cathleen Chittenden Bascom serves as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas. She has been an Episcopal priest for 34 years and has served urban, suburban, small-town, and academic communities.
Creation Care has long been a central focus of Cathleen’s ministry. Cathleen recently published a novel Of Green Stuff Woven.
Cathleen has been part of TEC’s delegation to the UN Climate COPS 26 and 28 and the UN Biodiversity COP 16. In the Diocese of Kansas, she has worked with leaders to establish the Bethany House and Garden Ministry at the diocesan center in Topeka. This innovative ministry serves the local community, providing green space in one of the state's most impoverished neighborhoods and access to healthy food and education in sustainable gardening practices.
