Support charter schools—help us grow and advocate today!

Charter Schools Are Public Schools, Free and Open to All

Working on behalf of NH Public Charter Schools since 2016

Dear Charter School Supporters,

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it has been a meaningful and active one for those who support chartered public schools across New Hampshire. The Alliance has been fully engaged at the State House, closely monitoring education legislation as it moves through the House and Senate and advocating to protect and strengthen high-quality public school options for families.

Even in the midst of winter, the impact of chartered public schools is on full display. From ski programs at local mountains to innovative, hands-on learning experiences, students continue to thrive in environments designed to meet their unique needs. Your continued support makes these opportunities possible and ensures schools can remain responsive, creative, and student-centered.

As we look ahead to the promise of warmer days, we remain energized and grateful for the community of supporters who stand with us during this busy legislative season and throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Jodi Adams

Executive Director

Legislation

This legislative session, the Alliance has been closely monitoring a range of education-related bills that could impact chartered public schools and the families they serve. These proposals span issues such as parental rights, student enrollment policies, governance and oversight structures, and facilities and building regulations.

In addition to tracking legislation introduced by others, we have also advanced policy priorities of our own to address operational challenges and ensure fair and practical treatment of chartered public schools under state law.

Throughout the session, we have been actively testifying, meeting with lawmakers, and working behind the scenes to represent the interests of our schools. While we provide detailed bill tracking and analysis to our member schools, we want our broader community of supporters to know that we are engaged every day in thoughtful, strategic advocacy to protect and strengthen public school choice in New Hampshire.

Celebrations

Congratulations to Commissioner Caitlin Davis at the New Hampshire Department of Education for being named a recipient of the Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty Award.

Presented annually by the New Hampshire Union Leader, the 40 Under Forty award recognizes 40 outstanding young professionals across New Hampshire who are under the age of 40. Honorees are selected for their professional achievements, leadership, and meaningful contributions to their communities. The award highlights individuals who are making a significant impact in their fields while also demonstrating a strong commitment to service and civic engagement throughout the state.

The Alliance looks forward to continuing our partnership with Commissioner Davis as she advances policies that support and strengthen chartered public schools and public schools across New Hampshire.
