"You will see future Olympians here"

Jumpfest is no ordinary event and this is no ordinary year as the Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) celebrates its 100th Anniversary with Jumpfest 2026, Friday through Sunday, February 6, 7 and 8 at Satre Hill in Salisbury, CT.

The three-day event, which features some of the best ski jumpers in the eastern division, attracts thousands of visitors who witness the excitement of live ski jumping at its best in a fun, party-like atmosphere, and yes, you will see future Olympians here!

Enjoy food trucks, craft beer, hot toddies, and bonfires while watching jumpers fly up to 200 feet through the air at speeds of over 50 miles per hour.

Featured weekend events include Community Night on Friday evening- target jumping under the lights which is fun for the jumpers and exciting for viewers as well as the zany Human Dog Sled race. And this year, Friday night will include a fireworks display sponsored by NBT Bank!

Saturday, will start off with a fun junior competition in the morning, and the prestigious Salisbury Invitational will be held in the afternoon. The Snow Ball with live music will take place at the Lakeville Town Grove Saturday evening.

Sunday, the Eastern U.S. Ski Jumping Championships will be held. This is a very important event for jumpers who will be vying for a spot on the Junior National Team, so they will be bringing their A game for sure!

Admission to all events (except the Snow Ball) is $15 for adults, children 12 and under admitted for free. Discounts for seniors and veterans. Free parking.

But before Jumpfest 2026 kicks off, there will be several 100th Anniversary celebrations to catch beginning in early January.

SWSA director/jumper/coach/author Ariel Picton Kobayashi has published a new volume to celebrate SWSA's centennial year: 100 Years of Ski Jumping: Salisbury Winter Sports Association. The coffee table pictorial follows the organization from the 1920s through the 2020s. The limited-edition book will be available for sale for $25 during Jumpfest 2026.

Things to Keep in Mind

We make our own snow. Even if the winter looks brown outside your window, it's white over at Satre Hill thanks to our state-of-the-art snow guns.

February weather can be quirky- temperatures at Jumpfest can range from the single digits up to the forties, so bring warm clothes.

If you have never seen ski jumping live, you have never truly witnessed the sport. Standing amidst the ringing cowbells, with crowds cheering on their favorites, hearing skis slapping against the landing hill as these brave jumpers soar up to 200 feet through the air at speeds up to 50 miles an hour, is something you must experience.

Jumpfest 2026 will be live streamed all three days. Go to Jumpfest.org to click on the fun!

Proceeds from Jumpfest fund SWSA youth skiing programs.

Please check jumpfest.org for program changes and schedule updates.

Dear Salisbury Resident,

During the fifth annual Heating Assistance Awareness Month this November, Salisbury is partnering with Eversource to raise awareness of the programs available to help pay or lower heating bills, and keep homes warm this winter.

If you or someone you know is struggling to keep up with their energy bills, now is the time to get assistance this winter heating season.  There is a plan for everyone, including:

Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP):

  • Apply to get up to $645 towards your heating bill from CEAP. Apply for CEAP online at CT.gov/heatinghelp or through your local Community Action Agency (CAA). Find your local CAA at 211.ct.org or call 211.

Energy Efficiency:

  • Take advantage of Eversource’s energy efficiency programs, incentives and tips to help you save money and reduce your overall energy use during the colder months. Renters need permission from their landlords to participate.

Winter Protection:

  • If you provide proof of qualifying household income or public assistance benefits you receive for at least one household member, your service cannot be shut off between November 1 and May 1.

To find the right options for you, visit eversource.com/billhelp to learn more about these programs. You can also find your local CAA for assistance at 211ct.org or call 211. Please help us raise awareness by sharing this important information with family, friends and neighbors. Let’s work together to lower your heating bills and stay warm this winter.

For information about these programs, visit eversource.com/billhelp or call us at 800-286-2828.
