4. All Master Gardeners Tour

This is one of the largest collections of camellias in our region and a wonderful place to enjoy the many colorful blooming flowers in winter. You’re welcome to bring a friend. Free admission and parking.

Given the severity of cold temperatures, we need the RSVP list to contact you in advance should other weather-related realities interfere with the tour. We appreciate that Planting Fields is a distance for many Suffolk Master Gardeners.

If you haven’t yet dipped your toe in either of these free online courses, consider the Master Composter and/or Master Rain Gardener programs this month. These extraordinary free continuing education opportunities may bring your MG skillset to a new level.

MG "APPROVED" SITE
APPLICATION REQUESTS OPEN
SUSTAINABILITY
The Master Gardener Advisory Committee has been discussing ways to support MG approved gardens over time. The three key features deserve attention.
1). The 2026 applicants who gain "provisional" status will participate in a 3 YEAR REVIEW PROCESS.
2). EDUCATION and PUBLIC OUTREACH at the site are key to serving the Cornell Extension mission.
3). The 2026 applicants must also identify a number of Master Gardeners in relation to the SIZE and NATURE of the proposed garden's square footage. Three are required at a minimum.
A three year moratorium will be in effect after the MARCH 15, 2026 Application deadline.
