Senior Legal Service's Elder Abuse Restraining Order Clinics

Contra Costa County Senior Legal Services offers a weekly legal clinic for Contra Costa County Residents age 60+ seeking support with elder abuse restraining orders.


This clinic is offered every Tuesday at the Contra Costa County Building on 1026 Escobar Street in Martinez (in conference room 238 next to the public law library)

Public Library Event: Tax Preparation & Veteran's Services

The Contra Costa Public Library is hosting the following events. Please see their website for more information, available at the links below.

AARP Tax Prep | February 7, 14, 21, & 28 [Lafayette]


Description: "IRS-certified AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will provide free federal and state tax preparation for low to moderate income residents. This service is offered to people of all ages, with special attention to those aged 50 and older. You do not have to be an AARP member to receive assistance. One appointment per tax return can be scheduled, and married couples must come together." More information & registration here and by clicking on the dates above.

Veterans' In Person Services | February 9 & 23 [Brentwood]


Description: "Veterans Service Representatives (VSR's) are thoroughly trained and accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to represent you. Contra Costa County VSR's are not employees of the federal government, they are county employees ready to assist you with any Veterans claim. They will assist you in securing the maximum benefits. Your representative will work closely with service officers from a Veterans organization of your choice. Appointments are required."
