Medicaid Updates & Helpful Resources for New Hampshire Families

Medicaid Matters recently hosted a webinar, “Medicaid: What Granite State Families Need to Know About Changes to Medicaid,” to help families better understand ongoing developments and what they may mean for individuals who rely on Medicaid services.

If you were unable to attend — or would like to review the information — the webinar recording and presentation slides are now available on the NH Medicaid Matters website under the Resources section.

As conversations about Medicaid continue,
NHNeedsMedicaid.com offers fact sheets, FAQs, advocacy information, resources that may be helpful for families seeking information, assistance, or support and opportunities to share personal experiences related to Medicaid in New Hampshire.

Community Bridges will continue sharing updates and resources as information becomes available. We encourage families to stay informed and reach out if you need help finding local supports.

New Hampshire Contact Person Notification Program

A new statewide public safety initiative — the Contact Person Notification Program — is now available to help support communication between law enforcement and individuals with cognitive impairments or other disabilities.

Through this voluntary program, individuals or caregivers may provide contact information for a legal guardian, family member, or trusted support person. This information can help law enforcement better understand how to interact with someone during an encounter and ensure a designated contact person can be reached quickly if needed.

Participation is completely optional and intended to promote safety, understanding, and timely communication.

Family Connection Series: Featuring NH Hands & Voices

New Hampshire Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services invites families to its next Family Connection Series virtual event on Tuesday, March 3, from 8–9 PM, featuring NH Hands & Voices.

This session is a great opportunity to learn about available resources, connect with other families, and explore ways to get involved. NH Hands & Voices is dedicated to supporting families of children who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf plus — providing guidance and connection without bias toward any communication mode or methodology.

Families are encouraged to join the conversation and learn more about the supports available across New Hampshire.

2026 Transition Community of Practice Education Series

Families, educators, and community partners are invited to take part in the 2026 NH Transition Community of Practice (COP) Education Series, a free virtual learning opportunity focused on helping young people successfully transition from school to adult life.

Held monthly via Zoom, these one-hour sessions explore timely topics such as apprenticeship opportunities, assistive technology, adult benefits, vocational rehabilitation services, and supports for youth navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Participants are also welcome to stay for an optional resource-sharing hour following each session.

The series is designed to provide practical information, tools, and connections that support planning for life after high school.

Learn more, view upcoming topics, and access session resources at the Next Steps NH website.
