We laid our beloved senior, Lenny, to rest last month. He was diagnosed with heart failure in November, and we knew our time was limited. Lenny was one of the best pups, bonded with a brother named Dempsey. They made the sanctuary their home after their beloved owner passed away. There wasn't a toy Lenny didn't love, or a day of rough-housing with Dempsey he ever passed up. Like a true 90-lb dog, your lap was his favorite place to sit to get cuddles.
Our staff and volunteers are devastated, but we are working hard to ensure Dempsey is comforted with treats, love, and walks as he grieves the loss of his brother. We know things like this happen, but they never get easier.
The rainbow bridge gained another beauty, Val. Show Lenny the way home.
