UCSF Health

UCSF Fellow Victoria Deng presenting at the Noyce Fellowship Conference

UCSF Health advances health worldwide through biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.


Since 2019, UCSF Health has hosted three teacher fellows, reaching more than 600 Bay Area students. Fellowship projects have strengthened clinician training and explored IT’s role in healthcare, inspiring lesson plans that introduce students to pharmacy management software and careers in health informatics.


In 2024, UCSF fellow Victoria Deng created the Teachers’ Guide to AI for Education, a classroom resource she shared with 100 educators at the Noyce Fellowship Conference in Washington D.C., extending its impact to approximately 1,500 students across the nation.


As February marks American Heart Month and National Cancer Prevention Month, Ignited is proud to partner with a leading health innovator dedicated to inspiring excellence in the future workforce.

UCSF’s Center for Science, Education and Outreach is now accepting applications for the 2026 CURE Research Internship, an 8-week summer program offering high school juniors and City College of San Francisco students hands-on research experience, mentorship in UCSF labs, and exposure to academic and career pathways in health and science. Apply by February 8, 2026.


San Joaquin Valley Mathematics Project is hosting their virtual Friday Evening Mathematics Spotlight: (Re)Thinking Teaching with AI and Digital Tools in Mathematics Education with Dr. Sheunghyun Yeo on February 20, from 5:00-6:30pm.


High school students! Join Seymour Marine Discovery Center and The Marine Mammal Center for a free hands-on event, Exploring Human and Marine Mammal Adaptations. Lunch and snacks provided, February 28 at 9:45 am.


The NSTA National Conference is coming to Anaheim April 15–18, bringing science and STEM educators together for four days of learning, collaboration, and fresh classroom inspiration. Attendees will explore practical strategies, new ideas, and shared insights for lifelong learning. Apply soon, limited scholarships are available to cover registration fees.


Acterra is offering training focused on climate change and renewable energy. This interactive workshop includes a deep dive into renewable energy sources and Zero-Emission Vehicle topics through classroom-ready content. Stipends will be provided, contact Lily.espriella@acterra.org to sign up.


Snap Circuits are a fun hands-on way for kids to learn the basics of electronics and electrical circuits. High-Tech High Heels volunteers provide kits and help deliver pre-recorded lessons on how to build each project. Limited kits are available for teachers of grades 3-6 in California. Apply here!
