Friday, February 21st

Dear Parents,

We took some time to review our test scores and want you to know the results. Last spring was our first year taking these tests so know that we will have a better baseline after this year. We are very happy with the results so far and hope you are too. Please see the high percentage of students who are over performing in the advanced scores.

The purpose of the Forward Exam is performance based and allows:

  • students to reflect on their achievements
  • helps teachers target instruction to student needs and their own instructional practices
  • administrators to more fully understand what students know and can do in order to guide curriculum and professional development decisions
  • parents/guardians to understand what their child knows and is able to do in ELA, math, science, and social studies
  • all stakeholders check how ready ALL students are for further education, college, career

Please see the percentage of advanced students in ELA and math below (Grades 6-8).

NEW NEXT YEAR

We are adopting the I-Ready Program for the 2025-26 school year to monitor and guide instruction for all students in grades K5 - 5th. What is I-Ready? It is an adaptive test that personalizes questions to identify each student's needs and is a powerful and beneficial assessment tool for teachers to plan and identify student learning patterns. Studies show that students who use I-Ready demonstrate greater improvements in mathematics and reading. More than 13 million students use it to provide accurate, safe, and effective learning assessments. Students are tested three times per year and the results of the I-Ready assessment help identify individual learning targets for each student.

Have you registered your child(ren) for the upcoming school year yet? Please do so so we can start planning for next year. Do you have to be Catholic to attend our school? Absolutely not. We accept all denominations and are happy to have you share your faith with us. Learning about Jesus and being a good person are our priority. Love one another, respect others and that's all.

Your child, your choice.
