| | Carondelet Earns AP Platinum Honor Roll Recognition | |
We are proud to share that Carondelet High School has been named a 2025 AP School Honor Roll Platinum school, the highest level of recognition awarded by the College Board. This distinction reflects not only strong performance but a schoolwide commitment to expanding access, supporting students, and building a thoughtful, mission-aligned, college-going culture.
The Platinum level requires schools to meet rigorous benchmarks in three areas, and Carondelet exceeded the top threshold in all of them. Of the Class of 2025, 94% took at least one AP course, demonstrating broad participation and a culture that encourages students to challenge themselves. By earning an AP score of 3 or higher, 84% received college credit, creating meaningful opportunities for college affordability. In addition, 38% of students completed five or more AP courses, including at least one in 9th or 10th grade, a pathway shown to strengthen college readiness without overloading students later in high school. See the full AP School Honor Roll Progress Report here.
What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it is not about a small group of students taking many AP classes. Each metric counts each student only once, emphasizing access, balance, and long-term success for a wide range of learners.
This honor reflects the dedication of our teachers, the courage and commitment of our students, and the partnership of our families. Together, we are creating an academic program that opens doors, supports well-being, and prepares young women to thrive in college and beyond.
Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.
Principal of Academics

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
The Cannon Wellness Center is offering focused programming throughout the month to raise awareness and develop tools to foster healthy relationships and friendships, and to equip students with tools to advocate for safety and respect within our community. Students are invited to attend the Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships Workshops on March 4 & 6.
Cultivating healthy relationships is an essential part of adolescent development and overall well-being, and it closely aligns with our Mission. It is important that students continue building skills in positive communication, recognizing and respecting healthy boundaries, and developing a clear understanding of consent.
Students are encouraged to check our events calendar and join us during lunch for activities that promote connection and reinforce the importance of safe, supportive relationships.
Laps for Life at De La Salle: Friday, February 27
This month, we are also invited to join De La Salle in their education efforts around mental health awareness and suicide prevention by supporting their upcoming annual Laps For Life event during lunch on Friday, February 27.
Laps for Life is a powerful and hope-filled event focused on changing the conversation around teen mental health. The event was created in 2012 following the tragic loss of De La Salle student Tyler Bunn and continues in his memory.
We invite students to join us for this meaningful lunchtime event at De La Salle. The afternoon will include inspirational speakers and an opportunity to walk the DLS track together in solidarity and support of mental health awareness.
We encourage you to keep the lines of communication open with your daughters around this important and sensitive topic, and we have several additional resources on our Wellness Resources page to facilitate those conversations.
As wellness counselors, we are here to support our students and families. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns, or would like further information regarding resources and community referrals.
