Offering Restorative Justice (ORJ for short) is a practical guide for parents, teachers, and counselors who want to help children flourish.
Traditional forms of behavior management are characterized by punitive measures that rely on shame and fear for quick results. ORJ reworks this paradigm by recojing that improvement begins with building strong, trusting relationships.
With a foundation of trust, ORJ empowers youth to find pathways to peace and accountability. In Silver’s training, participants will learn concrete strategies that are fun, meaningful, and preserve the dignity of the youth in our care.
From Silver’s workshop, you’ll learn to:
- Improve behavior without shame or fear by setting kind and firm boundaries, and by connecting consequences to impact.
- Help youth to develop emotional intelligence through restorative circles, written reflections, and interactive theater games.
- Address conflict in a way that uplifts everyone involved through structured dialogue.
- Create a culture of accountability by keeping records of occurrences and using restorative practices in your daily routine.
