REQUIRED BOUNDARY TRAINING FOR MINISTERS
The Commission on Ministry has scheduled an online personal boundary training for ordained and commissioned ministers in the Oregon Southwest Idaho region. The training is required for continuing in good standing as an active ordained or commissioned minister. The date is Saturday, February 27, from 10 am to 3 pm Pacific time, 11 am to 4 pm Mountain.
Leader for the February 27 training will be Rev. Sandy Messick, Regional Minister for the Northern Lights region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The Northern Lights region includes Disciples churches in Washington, Alaska, North Idaho and Montana.
Rev. Messick has been trained for this role by the Faith Trust Institute of Seattle. The event on February 27 will include approximately two hours on personal, sexual boundaries for ministers and two hours on maintaining appropriate personal boundaries online with social media. There will be a lunch break in between the two sessions.

There will be a $10.00 fee to help with the costs of the event.
Current personal boundary training is required for all active ordained and commissioned ministers. Those who are retired and not involved in an active ministry are welcome to attend but not required.
Anyone who took the personal boundaries course with Rev. Huberto Pimentel during Certificate of Ministry studies classes is welcome to attend on February 27 but not required.
If you have taken a personal, sexual boundaries course in the last two years with another Disciples or UCC ministry, you may send the documentation to be considered for a waiver.
The February 27 training will have new information not covered in previous events for ministers in this region. There may also be some information which is a refresher or reminder, but always useful and important.
We do not plan to ask Sandy Messick to present the training for our regional church a second time. We are grateful to her for assisting with this event.
