The March 2 United Methodist Men Meeting will highlight the work being done by UMOM. Originally founded as an outreach of the United Methodist Church, UMOM is the largest homeless and crisis intervention shelter and service provider in the Phoenix metropolitan area. UMOM CEO Darlene Newsom, and Dayspring UMOM coordinators, Carolyn and Matthew Reid, will provide insight into the tremendous need for homeless and domestic violence intervention services and how that need should affect us all. Plan to join UMM for a Joe Lambrecht breakfast at 8:00 in the Adult Room for music, fellowship and this important program.
Called Together by Grace: General Conference is over. So now what? Bishop Bob Hoshibata is hosting a special session for our Desert Southwest Conference on Saturday, March 2, from 10:00-12:00 with fellowship at 9:30. You are invited to join laity and clergy from across our conference for a time to gather in worship as a community, experience our covenant together, and affirm our shared vision and values. The bishop will share a message of hope and unity, including conversations about the implementation of the General Conference 2019 legislation. This event will take place simultaneously at one of four locations, with the sites connected via video technology. The meeting for our district will be at St. Matthew UMC, 2540 W Baseline Rd, Mesa.
Please plan to attend the annual Boy Scout Troop 172 pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 3, from 8:15-10:30 in Fellowship Hall. There is no charge for the breakfast, however, donations will be accepted with the proceeds benefiting the troop.
