Grade 7 "Found" Poems

After watching the documentary "The Children's March," and discussing advocacy and community, the seventh graders created "Found" poems about some of the many issues that were raised. Some of these issues included segregation, discrimination, equality and freedom.

We are in need of volunteers for the following events:

BOOK FAIR (02/27-03/03)
Please help us staff the Peabody Book Fair!  You’re welcome to choose more than one shift if you’d like.  Most shifts have slots for two volunteers, but there are additional openings to help move the book fair to Game Night, where families will also have an opportunity to shop.   Click here to choose your shift.

GAME NIGHT (03/03)
Calling all GameMasters!  Please join us for Game Night! We have some fun new additions to game night, including a food truck!  We are pleased to announce that  Farm Fresh Fixins  will be offering tasty dinner and snack options at Game Night this year.  They won the 2016 Virginia Food Truck Battle & Beer Competition and we are so pleased they’re coming to hang out with us at Game Night!  They’ll accept cash or cards.

We are looking for at least 20 GameMasters and other volunteers as well.   Please click here to reserve your table or volunteer .

Peabody School Swim Team

The Peabody Swim Team made a splash recently at two middle school meets! On January 20th, the team competed at Smith Aquatic Center in Field School's 4th Annual Middle School Meet. At this meet with six local school teams, each swimmer entered two individual events and they beat their personal best times almost across the board. Walker D. and Georgia W. earned points for the team by placing 1st and 2nd in their events, and Peabody swam hard in two girls’ and two boys’ relays. On January 28th, Lyndsey S., Maggie T.,  and Walker D.,  traveled to Warrenton to represent Peabody in the 10th Annual VISAA JV Invitational where they competed against 16 other teams from all over Virginia. Most of the teams were comprised of 15-25 swimmers in grades 6-9, but also some older high school swimmers competed. While we did not earn points from relays, our team of three scored in individual events with several top 10 and even 2nd place finishes, resulting in the Peabody Boys team placing 9th overall and the Peabody Girls placing 12th! We are so proud of all of our swimmers and excited that Peabody has a new team in our athletic program!
