Trinitas Earns Second JCAHO Gold Seal Approval for Total Hip and Knee Replacement!

Trinitas Regional Medical Center has earned its second consecutive Joint Commission Gold Seal of ApprovalĀ® for Disease-Specific Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Trinitas was the first in Union County to achieve this important designation in 2016, and underwent a rigorous onsite survey by Joint Commission experts, who evaluated compliance with disease-specific care standards for total hip and total knee replacement, including pre- and post-operative patient education, patient safety, prevention of infection, restoration of patient function and patient monitoring after discharge from the hospital.

"This designation is the result of the hard work of a tremendous team of professionals," said James Dunleavy, PT, DPT, MS, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Director of Rehabilitation Services. "The Gold Seal of Approval covers our entire program, from assessment, surgery and perhaps most importantly, rehabilitation. It continues to validate that we provide excellent, evidence-based care for our patients."
"Trinitas is pleased to receive disease specific certification from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation," added Gary S. Horan, FACHE, President/CEO of Trinitas. "We look forward to improving patient safety and quality of care for the increasing number of patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacement surgery."

For more information on the Total Joint Replacement Program at Trinitas, call 908-994-5406.
Trinitas School of Nursing Graduates 112!

One hundred and twelve students received their nursing diplomas at the Trinitas School of Nursing's 161 st Convocation Ceremony held at St. Michael's Church in Cranford. Surrounded by family, friends, and staff that supported their efforts every step of the way, 99 women and 13 men proudly accepted their pins and diplomas. They also became eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN registered nurse licensing examination.

"The Trinitas School of Nursing congratulates the Class of January 2019," said Dr. Rose Santee, Dean of the Trinitas School of Nursing, a diploma in nursing program which is affiliated with Union County College that also awards the Associate in Science Degree to the graduates. "The administration, faculty and staff continue their commitment to the success of all our nursing students using innovative strategies to promote student success. We prepare our graduates to be entry-level nurses in today's dynamic health care environment."

Trinitas School of Nursing, a collaborative nursing program of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and Union County College, currently holds full accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. The National League for Nursing has awarded the School of Nursing a third designation as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education status for the years 2015 - 2020 for Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development. The majority of the full-time faculty and administration are doctorally prepared and hold certifications as NLN Certified Nurse Educators (CNE). The School holds a 25-year, 50-class national RN licensing examination (NCLEX) average pass rate of 95% on first attempt.    Click to read more.

Congratulations!
