Pianist Sean Chen Captivates Audience During Steinway by Starlight Concert
Sean Chen, a charismatic and world-renowned pianist, captivated the audience during California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) annual Steinway by Starlight concert Feb. 2 with energetic renditions of pieces by such virtuosos as Leopold Godowsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and an alluring performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Quasi una fantasia." Religious Terrorism Expert Mark Juergensmeyer Launches CSUDH's Speaker Series 'Tolerance and Violence in the Mind of God'
Mark Juergensmeyer, author of the book "Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence" discussed his research on "religious terrorism" Feb. 7 to launch CSU Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) semester-long speaker series "Tolerance and Violence in the Mind of God."  Read More... 
CSUDH Alumni Night at the Theatre
Join fellow alumni for a special reception at 1910 Café and Lounge followed by the CSUDH Department of Theatre and Dance production of "She Kills Monsters." $20 ticket includes hosted appetizers at the reception, campus parking and theatre performance. Proceeds from the tickets sales will go back to support the Theater Arts program at CSUDH. Tickets are limited and can only be purchased online.  Purchase Tickets Here... 
Pasadena Alumni Social
CSUDH Alumni met for appetizers and an evening of networking with fellow alumni over cocktails at Bar Celona in Pasadena. 
Introducing the new Toro mascot
On Wednesday, February 8, the NEW Teddy the Toro mascot was revealed during Homecoming festivities on campus.  
Class Notes
Nikan Khatibi (MBA '05)
was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to the California Health Professions Education Foundation Board of Trustees, where he has served since 2016. Khatibi has been a pain and addiction medicine physician at the Riverside Medical Clinic since 2015.   

Denise Romero (MA '10)
was elected the secretary-treasurer of The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB), which is the national certification board for dental assistants. She is an associate professor at Pasadena City College, where she has been instrumental in creating the curriculum for numerous dental assisting courses.      

Judy Bicknell Taylor (BS '88, MS '94)
has been appointed administrator of the Idaho Commission on Aging. She most recently served as associate executive director of the State Board of Nursing, and held previous posts as interim director of patient care services for St. Luke's McCall Hospital, and director of clinical services and director of nursing services at the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital in Boise.
