Our speakers discussed commercial real estate trends, optimistic industry developments, and shared their personal experiences.

Building Skills Partnership - Floor Care Graduations

Building Skills Partnership (BSP) and BOMA/GLA join forces to offer diverse free programs aimed at enhancing the skills of low-income workers. BSP takes pride in highlighting the accomplishments of participants in its Floor Care education program. In collaboration with DMS Facility Services, property service workers in Los Angeles and Sacramento completed BSP’s Floor Care program in the Fall of 2023. The Floor Care program, created in partnership with industry representatives, offers a 12-hour classroom curriculum in addition to a 3-week on-the-job training.

Congratulations to the Winners of the Best Decorated Box Contest

In 2023, we had an incredible number of buildings take part in the Annual Toy Drive. The committee set out to make this the most successful drive we've had! One of the incentives for participating, in addition to assisting the community in need, was to make it a team-building event with the Best Decorated Toy Box contest. Thank you to all those who submitted toy box pictures for the contest. We enjoyed seeing the participation and we hope to see even more creativity this year!

I have been an active BOMA/GLA member for 3 years.

Why did you join BOMA/GLA?

I wanted to expand my network and gain better insights into the real estate industry in Los Angeles.

What’s your favorite part of being a BOMA/GLA member?

I love being a part of committees and getting to know all sorts of members! It’s a great way to meet people and educate yourself on different topics. 

What is a personal or professional project you are working on right now?

Currently working on perfecting my braised short rib recipe! If you know anyone who wants to be a tester, send them my way!

What do you love most about the commercial real estate industry?

I love that it’s always changing! It challenges professionals to constantly think outside the box.

What is your favorite hobby?

Salsa dancing.

What advice would you give to a new member?

Get involved! If you don’t know how ask the BOMA/GLA staff to connect you to a current member who can help guide you. Talk to current members and ask them for advice on how to get involved or be a part of a committee.

BOMA Cal Visits BOMA/GLA

BOMA California recently paid a visit to BOMA Greater Los Angeles, engaging in a dynamic dialogue with the Government Affairs Committee. The discussion focused on the upcoming state legislative year and local members' critical role in influencing state-level policy decisions. 

BOMA Cal underscored the significance of sharing local stories to bolster the advocacy efforts in Sacramento. State legislators often check in with their district staff before taking a stance on proposed legislation. We thank BOMA Cal for taking the time to visit us in person!
