"I am looking for ideas for a book club menu for Call Your Daughter Home by Deb Spera, which follows three Southern women in South Carolina during the years before the Great Depression. I was planning to serve Southern foods, but would appreciate any especially good ideas!"
-Liz, Reading Between the Wines Book Club, Santee, California

From Deb Spera: “Given that it is winter the menu options lessen, I’d do a good old-fashioned meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collards, and some homemade cornbread with butter and honey. If you want a themed cocktail then the Hurricane would be a good one to try. Otherwise coffee or sweet tea is good. For dessert, Hummingbird cake or pecan pie. Enjoy!”
