Black History Month and Black Maternal,
Infant, and Child Health
A message from the United States Breastfeeding Committee
“As we celebrate Black History Month, we pay tribute to the struggles and achievements of the people and events that have shaped our nation. Join the USBC in recognizing the histories and continuing invaluable contributions of Black people in the United States. By working together to raise awareness about Black maternal, infant, and child health, and bringing to light community priorities, strengths, and assets, we can all share and utilize resources, and actively engage in collaborative efforts to advance health equity.”

If you are a bereaved parent, there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Losing a baby is the most difficult thing a parent will ever face. Some mothers have found comfort and healing by donating their baby’s milk to another baby in need. If you are bereaved or know someone who has suffered infant loss and are curious about the donation process, email us and we will follow your lead on how you want to proceed. Check out our bereavement page on our website, for resources, and more information about the donation process.
We would love to hear about your experience as a community partner, volunteer, milk donor, milk recipient, or depot owner!
