Town of Beaux Arts Village News

PLEASE WELCOME AMY MYHRE, THE NEW TOWN CLERK!

Please join us in welcoming our new Town Clerk-Treasurer, Amy Myhre! Amy has joined the Town and will assume the duties of Clerk-Treasurer moving forward. Throughout January, she worked closely with Sue Ann to ensure a smooth transition and to learn the operations of the Town of Beaux Arts before Sue Ann’s formal retirement at the end of the month.

WATER RATE INCREASE - SECOND NOTICE

The Water Department has increased water billing rates in an effort to keep pace with record inflation and the escalating costs of maintaining our water-supply infrastructure. The new bi-monthly base rate will be $135 and will continue to include 500 cf of water usage per billing cycle. Usage rates beyond 500 cf will remain unchanged – billed at $1.50 per 100 cf (or portion thereof). Customers will see these new rates on their March 1st bills for water usage in January and February.

We always welcome Villager participation at Council meetings with any feedback – or feel free to email Mayor Howes with any questions.

COUNCIL BUSINESS

The Council held their Regular Meeting on January 13, 2025 to discuss/act on the following:

  • The new town Clerk, Amy Myhre, was introduced. She will be replacing Sue Ann Spens once Sue Ann retires at the end of January.
  • The Council passed Resolution No. 344, memorializing the new increased water rates that the council passed at the December 2025 council meeting. The new rates are effective 1/1/26.
  • The Council also passed Resolution 345, approving the ARCH budget and work program for 2026.
  • The Council voted to approve the bid for the City of Bellevue (COB)’s water line project. The water line work will occur mid-2026, and more information will be communicated as the project progresses.

The next Council meeting will be on February 10, 2026, at Councilmember Dix’s. At that meeting, the Council will discuss Councilmember duties, legislative priorities for 2026, proposed ROW tree maintenance for 2026, and the proposed camping ordinance.
