February 2019
Your monthly update from your local Chamber of Commerce!
Message from the Executive Director

Here we are already one month into 2019! Soon our chilly winter days will be a thing of the past and we will be welcoming those warm sunny days in our beautiful valley.

Looking forward to the next few months we have many events to make note of. Our 2 nd Lunch N’ Learn session of 2019 will be on February 26 at the Canalta Creteaceous Conference Centre. In partnership with the Atlas Coal Mine, we are pleased to bring international speaker and author of The Wealthy Buddhist , Rod Burylo to Drumheller to speak about relationship building for business. Please call the Chamber office or register online if you would like to attend this session.

Mark Wednesday, March 27 on your calendar as it will be the date for the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting . Join us at the Badlands Community Facility for networking at 6:30pm followed by the meeting at 7:00pm. Watch for further details to be announced later this month!

The Chamber is patiently waiting on the announcement of the spring provincial election. As always, we will host an election forum for the candidates running in the Drumheller-Stettler constituency. In preparation for the election, our colleagues at the Alberta Chambers of Commerce have compiled the Vote Prosperity campaign, which outlines the Alberta business community’s priorities for the provincial election. Vote Prosperity provide a series of proactive recommendations that all Alberta political parties should implement to ensure positive economic growth for Alberta.

Best wishes to the Drumheller Branch of Chinook Financial, who is nominated for the Customer Service Award of Distinction ! The recipient of this award will be announced on March 1 in Edmonton at the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction. Other finalists in the category include Peavy Mart (Red Deer), Heibert Cabinets and Fine Woodwork (Bow Island) and Silver Lake Sod Farm (Seven Persons). Good luck Chinook Financial!

Respectfully submitted,
Heather Bitz
Executive Director
