Rusk County Transit Commission serving OUR community for 48 years!
OUR mission is to provide safe and reliable transportation for all individuals.
RCTC, Rusk County Transit Commission, has been serving the Rusk County community since 1971 when it began as the ITS Bus. The bus service is on-demand, transporting within the City of Ladysmith and throughout Rusk County just by calling our dispatch team.
In 1980, RCTC introduced a new program that the community desperately needed. Transportation that was individualized and not limited to Rusk County. The Volunteer Driver Program was born. It recruits volunteers from the community to provide transportation using their own vehicles. When needed, large capacity and handicap accessible vans are available to take individuals and groups to places they want to go. This program has been used for transportation to and from: airports, appointments, family events, and shopping . The success of this program is due to flexible travel options for riders and the trusted, valued volunteer drivers.
In addition, RCTC is active in community events providing free shuttles during the Ladysmith Mardi Gras, Honor The Fallen Rides, and the Rusk County Rodeo. Watch for our shuttles at these events.
NEW this year, RCTC is excited to introduce the
first annual
Dump the Pump Day and Try Transit Week!
Dump the Pump Day is a day to highlight the many benefits of public transportation on personal opportunities, economy, gasoline consumption, and the environment.
Try Transit Week is a week-long event that residents are challenged to try public transportation at least once.
