All board reports for the year 2019 and the 2020 budget were accepted by members who attended the annual meeting last Sunday. There was an opportunity to discuss the plan to restructure/reorganize our constitution in order to more effectively make disciples and build the body of Christ. Since the church council plans to have the new constitution ready to be presented to the congregation for a vote in June 2020, the nominating committee has asked all board members whose terms have expired in 2020 to remain on their respective boards until May 2020. All of these board members have agreed and the vote to keep them on for an extended term was unanimous.  Thanks Janet and Bob and Maggie for the soup lunch; it was delicious.
This month’s movie showing on February 9 at 6:30 pm will be Breakthrough . Tragedy strikes when Joyce Smith's adopted son, John, falls through the ice on a frozen lake in Missouri. Trapped underwater for more than 15 minutes, rescuers bring John back to the surface and rush him to the nearest hospital. While doctors fear the worst, the 14-year-old boy continues to fight for his life as Joyce, her husband and their pastor stay by his bedside and pray for a miracle.

We're hosting a children's valentine-making party on Sunday, February 9th! Morning worship will include a children's sermon with Pastor Bob, after which the children will be dismissed to make valentines for their loved ones and enjoy valentine treats during coffee hour. Invite the children in your life—all are welcome!

In January, the confirmation class started an eight-week Teen Compass series, with Nancy Nowak leading the girls and Skip Koscuisko leading the boys. Teen Compass helps teens look at the myriad of decisions they are making in their lives and to wonder whether those decisions will help them create a life of wellness and happiness, as God wishes for them. Using these materials with teens will help them feel more known, connected, and respected as vital members of our communities. Please join us in praying for these classes, the leaders and the kids.
Pastor Bob leads our community Bible study each Thursday evening, starting with a light supper at 6pm, followed by an hour of study and discussion. We are happy to have volunteers help with meal set up and preparation at the church (usually around 5pm on Thursday). If you are willing and able, please let Bob Slagel know.
The committee for the church all-access project is seeking a capable, knowledgeable person to search and prepare grants for this project. If you are interested or know someone that qualifies for this paying job, please let Ray Conti, Janet Kelsey or Bob Slagel know.
