Senior Fraud Prevention

Join us for an informative seminar on fraud prevention tailored for seniors on Thursday, February 27 from 9:30-11:30am at the Stanton Community Center (7800 Katella Ave). Learn about common scams, how fraudsters target victims, and essential tips to safeguard yourself and your loved ones.

Grief and Bereavement Support Group

The Grief and Bereavement Support Group, facilitated in Spanish, aims to offer a safe environment in which you may tell your story and openly express your emotions. Connecting with others in an empathic, nonjudgmental setting allows you to reduce feelings of loneliness, address emotions, learn new coping strategies, explore your grief and begin to heal.


These free sessions continue to be held at the Stanton Family Resource Center until February 19 on Wednesdays, 10-11:30am. Childcare is available upon request. To register, call (714) 379-0129.

CHOC Wellness on Wheels

CHOC is bringing their mobile asthma clinic for preschool and school-aged children back to the Stanton Family Resource Center! These mobile clinics provide comprehensive asthma evaluations, lung function testing, allergy testing and asthma education. To schedule an appointment, please call

STANTON'S SPOTLIGHT

CEAC MLK Jr. Service Day

Our Community Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC) hosted their annual MLK Jr. Service Day Project, assembling care kits and making blankets to support our homeless neighbors and those in need.


A heartfelt thank you to the organizations that partnered with Stanton for this event, including Stanton’s Outreach Team, Interval House, and Robyne’s Nest.

Cloud House:

Phase One Opening

The Cloud House Development is expected to fully open in March 2025.


This development will add 321 new apartments to the City’s housing market. Residents of this development will enjoy several amenities such as a roof-top pool, gym, club room, and live-work spaces.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT UPDATES

Updates to City Fees Effective March 15, 2025

The City of Stanton recently reviewed its services, costs, and fees to ensure fairness and transparency. On January 14, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution 2025-04,

updating the fee schedule effective March 15, 2025.


What's Changing?

  • New Fees: 50 new fees have been introduced for services that previously had no associated charge. For example, a 2.6% credit card convenience fee will now apply to all credit card payments.
  • Fee Increases: 236 fees have been adjusted to reflect the current cost of providing services.
  • Fee Reductions: 65 fees have been lowered thanks to improved staff efficiency.
  • No Change: 28 fees remain the same.

 

These updates help ensure the City can continue delivering high-quality services while

keeping costs fair for everyone.

Renewal Period:

October 15, 2024 - January 31, 2025

Deadline:

January 31, 2025. Late fees will apply for renewals submitted after this date.

Sewer Rate Study Update

The City is reviewing sewer rates to ensure safe, reliable service and cover maintenance costs. Last updated in 2021, rates are now being reassessed through a five-year sewer rate study.

 

A consultant has been analyzing operating and capital needs, and the study is nearly complete. The findings will be presented at an upcoming City Council meeting, stay tuned for details!
