February Art Class Schedule
Adult Intro to Art - Mixed Media Painting Class Series
Attend 1, 2, 3 or all 4!

All classes will be held outdoors, under shade trees, weather-permitting.

Overview
If you've always wanted to try different art forms but didn’t know where to start, this Mixed Media Class Series with Kristen Marino will give you the chance to use a variety of materials, and learn art concepts and techniques to satisfy your creative yearnings. Each session will begin with a mini-lesson that emphasizes a particular art medium, technique and project. Focus will be placed on incorporating newly learned skills into your art in a step by step format. No artistic experience needed. 

Sign up for a single class, two, three or all four! Signing up for any three classes in the series earns you a discounted price of $35.00 per class. See registration ticketing on our website for details.

Classes are held on Fridays in February, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm; each session is 3 hours in length.) A minimum of two (2) students is required to hold each of these classes. Maximum class size is 12 plus instructor.
Friday, February 05: Pet Portrait
Create a one-of-a-kind mixed media portrait of your pet. Starting with a black and white print on watercolor paper, you will use acrylic paints, stencils and paint pens to bring the portrait to life. Finished portraits are on 8.5"x11" watercolor paper. All supplies included in $39.00 class fee.

You must email the instructor a clear photo of your pet at least two (2) days prior to class (no later than Wednesday, February 3rd). The higher the resolution the better. No pet? No problem. Send a picture of your favorite animal to paint.

Friday, February 12: Seascape:
Join us as we paint a beautiful seascape in bold, expressive colors. Learn how to paint clouds and water by mixing and blending colors to create depth and interest on your canvas. No artistic experience necessary as you will learn tips and tricks to creating great art. All supplies included in $39.00 class fee.
Friday, February 19: Mandalas:
Create a beautiful mandala design on canvas. Learn how to build up a richly layered background using collage, stencils and acrylic paint. Choose from a variety of papers and paint colors that promote peace and serenity. No artistic experience necessary as you will learn tips and tricks to creating great art. All supplies included in $39.00 class fee.
Friday, February 26: Whimsical Fish
Join us as we paint whimsical fish on a layered and textured background. Learn fun and easy techniques to build up volume that create visual interest on your canvas. Choose your own paint colors and layout. No artistic experience necessary as you will learn tips and tricks to creating great art. All supplies included in $39.00 class fee.

Registration for each class closes at 1:00pm - 48 hours/2 days - prior to that class. Registration for three or more classes closes at 1:00pm - 48 hours/2 days - prior to the first class.

Cancellations by the attendee are subject to the Refund Policy posted on the Life Realized website.

Parking is in public parking only - on W. Dearborn St., or in the Public Parking lot off Cedar Street behind Comadres Mexican Restaurant (the pink place directly across the street from The Dearborn Center.)
