Hello, My name is Sheila Sastri and I work for Los Angeles Education Partnership. My role is Teaching and Learning Coordinator and I will be supporting Belvedere Elementary school in project based learning. I am super excited to be here to support student achievement. I am passionate about advancing educational equity to meet the needs of teachers, students and the community so that all voices are heard and outcomes realized. I strongly believe if we ask, they will tell, and that makes all the difference. I look forward to our work together.

Hola, mi nombre es Sheila Sastri y trabajo para Los Angeles Education Partnership. Soy la Coordinador de enseñanza y aprendizaje y apoyaré a la escuela en el aprendizaje basado en proyectos. Estoy súper emocionado de estar aquí para apoyar el logro estudiantil. Me apasiona avanzar en la equidad educativa para satisfacer las necesidades de los maestros, los estudiantes y la comunidad para que se escuchen todas las voces y se realicen los resultados. Creo firmemente que si preguntamos, lo dirán, y eso hace toda la diferencia. Espero con ansias nuestro trabajo juntos.
My name is Karen Castro and I am the Family Engagement Coordinator through LAEP. My job is to support the Community Representative in bridging the gap between the families/community and the school; as well as supporting the Community School Coordinator and in any capacity that the school might need.

Mi nombre es Karen Castro y soy la coordinadora de participación familiar a través de LAEP. Mi trabajo es apoyar al Representante de la Comunidad para cerrar la brecha entre las familias / comunidad y la escuela; además de apoyar al Coordinador de la escuela comunitaria y en cualquier capacidad que la escuela pueda necesitar.

Girls on the Run
Spring Season 2020

The Girls on the Run Spring Season has started this week at Belvedere Elementary School! We are so excited to begin this new season with our new team. This week we began by doing team building activities with the students and learning about one another. A couple of students have already expressed how excited they were to see their teammates around school and how they have since become friends because of Girls on the Run! We are excited for the rest of the season and our special celebratory run in May! 
¡La temporada de primavera de Girls on the Run ha comenzado esta semana en la Escuela Primaria Belvedere! Estamos muy emocionados de comenzar esta nueva temporada con nuestro nuevo equipo. Esta semana comenzamos haciendo actividades de trabajo en equipo con los estudiantes y aprendiendo unos de otros. ¡Un par de estudiantes ya han expresado lo emocionados que estaban de ver a sus compañeros de equipo en la escuela y cómo se han hecho amigos gracias a Girls on the Run! ¡Estamos emocionados por el resto de la temporada y nuestra celebración especial de celebración en mayo!

Golden Bears & Bucket Fillers

The Bucket Fillers y Golden Bears trabajaron juntos para crear la tarjeta de San Valentín para los maestros. Este mes también están trabajando para finalizar las camisetas de la clase de 5to grado que se comprarán para todo los estudiantes de 5to grado. Tambien esperamos comenzar con la mediación entre pares y el patio de juegos este próximo mes.
The Bucket Fillers & Golden Bears worked together to create Valentine's card for teachers. This month they are also working on finalizing the 5th grade Class t-shirts that will be bought for the entire 5th grade student body. We are hoping to kick off with peer mediation & playground this upcoming month.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony &
Play 60 Assembly
This month we showed our appreciation to the Rams team by having a ribbon cutting ceremony and presenting them with a plaque.

After the ceremony, upper grade students participated in the Rams Play 60 Challenge Assembly. The Play 60 Challenge Assembly is a fun and educational way to promote fitness and health in a game-show format.
Este mes mostramos nuestro agradecimiento al equipo de los Rams al realizar una ceremonia y presentarles una placa.

Después de la ceremonia, los estudiantes de los 3ro, 4to y 5to
grados participaron en la Asamblea de los Rams Play 60. Play 60 Challenge Assembly es una forma divertida y educativa de promover el estado físico y la salud en un formato de programa de juegos.
Operation School Bell
Thanks to Operation School Bell, 173 of our students were provided with backpacks, shoes and clothes. So many of the students left with smiles on their faces after receiving the free items.
