Kudos...This is Sisterhood!

Membership Appreciation Brunch – what a beautiful event.

More than 100 women gathered to eat, schmooze and create Kesher bags for the food insecure. One of the highlights was watching our 1st graders sing “Todah Rabbah” to the Sisterhood for our generous support of Yalla!, our religious school. We welcomed more than two dozen new members who will continue the legacy of giving and building community, which is Sisterhood. The ruach was infectious! Rabbi Stephanie Kramer, Shanny Morgenstern, Kristi Kanarek, Laurie Goldstein, Marilyn Cohen and the dozens of volunteers from Sisterhood, Brotherhood and the Synagogue Board made our gala extra special! The Yalla! children created original placemats, the mimosas were flowing and the centerpieces were fun and creative… but most of all, thank YOU, for it is your support that makes events like this possible.

We will be collecting items during Yalla! on Sunday mornings or feel free to drop off anytime at the B'nai Jehudah reception desk and mark "for Sisterhood."

During February we will be collecting care items to put in tube socks to hand out to those in need, similar to Kesher Bags, but packed in a sock instead of a Ziploc bag. Here is the list: Tube Socks, First Aid Kits, Travel Toothbrush and Toothpaste, Chapstick, Travel Soap, Tuna Packets, Applesauce Singles/Pouches, or Granola Bars.

During March we will be collecting items for an organization called Harmony 4 Humanity, which collects both used musical instruments and the items to fix them, and gives them to children who are interested in learning to play. If you have any unused instruments please bring them to Bnai Jehudah to donate. If you would like to purchase items that will be used to fix up the instruments you can click on the following Amazon link: CLICK HERE
