Welcome to the newest edition of the Cornerstones newsletter. The BACnet International community benefits from information and education shared through Cornerstones, the organization's monthly electronic publication. This publication is distributed to members of the BACnet International community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual end users.

Cornerstones is a unique publication because it speaks not only to the engineer and contractor communities, but also to facility professionals, building managers and owners, and other personnel.

This is where you come in. We need you to connect! If there is a best practice, company news, product news or BACnet Success Story you want to share, please send them to us. And don't leave out the photos!

BACnet Secure Connect Education Resources

At the AHR Expo, BACnet International once again hosted several education sessions, although there were last minute cancellations and changes due to the pandemic. We had scheduled several presentations covering BACnet security but unfortunately had to cancel those. Andy McMillan, BACnet International President & Managing Director, recorded a short video in it's place discussing this topic. You can view the video on the BACnet International YouTube channel HERE.

BACnet International is also currently planning a webinar series covering BACnet Secure Connect and the future of BACnet security.

The BACnet Institute (TBI) includes over 150 articles and presentations covering many different topics at various expertise levels. Presentations include recordings of past AHR Expo BACnet International sessions, such as BACnet 101, BACnet Edge Solutions, Addressing IP Security Concerns When Deploying a BACnet System, and many more.

To view these sessions, visit The BACnet Institute and click on the Resources tab. Enter "ahr expo" in the search box and make sure "Abstract & Description" is checked. Once you click "search" you will see a list of available recordings.

Although registration is required for TBI, access is FREE. To sign up for an account, visit thebacnetinstitute.org.

PlugFest Interoperability Event - Save the Date!

Due to the uncertainty around the Covid-19 pandemic, the PlugFest Interoperability Workshop, which was scheduled for last October, had been rescheduled.

The event will be taking place April 20 - 22, 2022.

Our team is busy finalizing details but more information, including the location and registration, will be released SOON so keep your eyes out for an announcement!
