This publication is distributed to members of the BACnet International community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual users to BACnet news and updates.
Cornerstones is a unique publication because it speaks not only to the engineer and contractor communities, but also to facility professionals, building managers and owners, and other personnel.

The 2023 AHR Expo was a great success!
|
|
|
|
BACnet International was pleased to be an exhibiting sponsor at this year's AHR Expo. We were joined by 88 exhibiting members and 929 BTL Listed products were represented. This year's expo had 42,794 attendees, 1,779 total exhibitors, 425 international exhibitors at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
BACnet International had eight BACnet experts present education sessions including "The Hitchhikers' Guide to BACnet", "BACnet 101", "BACnet-centric Guide Spec" and "Deploying BACnet/SC". If you missed any sessions, they will be posted on The BACnet Institute (TBI). The BACnet Institute is FREE, but registration is required.

The BACnet Guide Specification
is now available to download on TBI!
|
|
|
|
This Guide Spec is derived from the Department of Defense’s document and has been updated and optimized for BACnet projects with contribution from Grant Wichenko of Appin Associates. It covers BACnet objects and services and can be inserted into the Building Automation System (BAS) Designer’s existing Division 23 or 25 specification.
It is a valuable resource for BAS Designers and Specifiers as it will save time, make it easier to develop project documents, and, ultimately, provide the author with a better finished product.
The BACnet Guide Spec is available through The BACnet Institute (TBI), BACnet International’s FREE online education environment that serves as a central source for globally relevant information and education related to BACnet. Although access to all of the resources on TBI are free, registration is required.

This month’s featured resource is “All About BACnet Broadcast Management Devices (BBMDs)." In this article, David T. Menges discusses how using an existing LAN as the infrastructure for a BACnet internetwork has the advantage that network upkeep and how security does not have to be maintained by the BACnet provider. It does, however, add some complexity that cannot be ignored.

The BACnet Institute (TBI) is an online portal for BACnet-focused learning and knowledge sharing. It provides an easy path to BACnet information and learning for everyone involved with BACnet systems. The portal includes three on-demand FREE courses and over 150 resources including white papers, articles, presentations and a community forum. TBI Resources are free, but registration for an account is required. Courses are eligible for CEUs and PDHs.
Each year TBI continues to grow. Since its launch in January 2017, over 6,000 registered users across more than 80 countries have accessed its resources. TBI’s simple search function allows users to get quick access to anything they need.
