What an honor and blessing it is for me to be able to greet you all as the new Executive Director/CEO of the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce! Thank you to the Chamber Board of Directors for providing this amazing opportunity. 

In my 30 years of living, working and raising our family in Defiance, I have always been impressed with the warm and caring nature of our town. As I complete my second week in the chair, I am very much looking forward to continuing and enhancing the many collaborative relationships between the Chamber and our partners all across our great community.

I want to personally thank Floyd Culver for graciously stepping in to serve our Defiance Chamber for these past several months as our Interim Executive Director. He willingly shared his wealth of knowledge from his many years of service and has been a wonderful, gracious mentor to guide this transition. Our Chamber has benefited greatly. Thank you, Floyd! I also want to thank our excellent Marketing and Events Coordinator Jenna Peper for all her good work!

For 2020 our focus will be on YOU - our members - and how we can best meet your business needs. I encourage you to forward this newsletter to your employees to help them learn of the events and benefits that your Chamber membership extends to them as well. The scholarship fund was established by the trustees of the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. who realize the importance of higher education. This non-renewable scholarship will be awarded annually to be used for post-secondary education to the scholarship winner who will be attending an accredited educational institution. There could be up to two $1,000 scholarships awarded for the 2020-2021 academic year, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. The scholarship will be payable directly to the college or university of the student’s choice.

 

 

Eligible applicants include all chamber members in good standing, member’s employees, employee’s spouse, and employee’s dependents who are accepted at an accredited university or college pursuing a degree, certification, or license.
