Meet Stellan: an Encompass Story
|
|
Stellan's mom Bre first considered
Encompass Early Intervention speech therapy for her son when he was nearly two years old. She had noticed that Stellan’s level of frustration with language was increasing: he spoke, but others could not easily understand him.
It was the final push Bre and her husband needed to enroll Stellan in Encompass Early Intervention, where they started working with Speech-Language Pathologist Tiana Bennett.
"The process was comfortable, intriguing, and while it certainly helped Stellan, Tiana also provided us with the tools to help him ourselves," Bre describes.
"Within three months, our son no longer exhibited what for him are extraordinary outbursts. He uses his words, and each day, we understand more. Encompass has opened new doors for Stellan, and we cannot wait to see how he continues to develop while utilizing them."

It Starts Here:
Help us Build a New Encompass Center!
|
|
We have a vision for a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Snoqualmie that will allow us to open up a range of new possibilities for children and families. Our new space will:
- Serve 30% more children in pediatric therapy
- Double the capacity of behavioral health programs
- Add critical therapeutic programs for children and families.
We have currently raised $7,300,000 of our $8,300,000 goal.
We are so encouraged and thankful for such generous support, but we still have a ways to go. That’s why we’re asking you, our community, to help us reach our goal.
Will you join us?

Parent Talks Podcast: Developing Your Child's Early Literacy Skills
|
|
Before kids can actually read and write, they already know a lot about reading and writing. Research shows that these early literacy skills are developed and strengthened beginning at birth—by talking, singing, playing, and of course, reading and writing. King County Library System’s Paula Burton, Public Services Librarian, and Jennifer Loomis, Children’s Services Librarian, dropped by the Parent Talks Podcast to share their insights on building early literacy skills in children.
