Wheelchair Hoops Showcase on February 27

Join us on Wednesday, February 27 beginning at 1 p.m. as we hold a wheelchair hoops showcase featuring the Golden State Road Warriors at Gene Friend Recreation Center (270 6th Street). We will also be showing off our 10 new custom basketball chairs  purchased through a generous grant from San Franciscans for Sports and Recreation! It's never too early to plan ahead to get out and play for the spring! Spring registration begins on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. From Aztec Dance to Quidditch 101, we have a class for everyone to break out of their winter hibernation! Summer Day Camp registration begins March 16!

Day camp registration begins at 10am on March 16.  Here's what you need to know if you're registering a child with a disability for day camp:

New this summer: you must contact us  by March 8 to be pre-authorized to register for Therapeutic Recreation (TR) or Adaptive Recreation (AR) camps.

  • If you are registering a child with a disability, fill out our registration information page immediately after you register
  • If you are requesting extra staff support, you must fill out the registration information page by March 29 or you will be placed on a waiting list for extra staff support.  
  • NOTE: If requests for staff support exceed our capacity for some weeks of camp, we will be forced to conduct a lottery for staff support for those weeks.

New two-day camps to fill the gaps before ESY begins and after it ends!

We heard you!  You need camp for your child when there is no ESY, so we created "Everybody Chills 2Day" camps to fill the gaps!

Our big news: SF Rec and Park is launching a brand new after school program for children with disabilities!

Beginning this fall, we'll be piloting a specialized after school program:
  • Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm
  • Mission Inclusion Center, 3555 19th Street at Linda
  • Open to children in grades K-8
  • This program will run alongside the American Sign Language after school program
  • Initial registration will be limited.  Please contact Jessica Huey at [email protected] or 415-206-1546 to let her know if you're interested in the program, and stay tuned for registration information!
We're also looking for qualified staff for this new program!  Contact Jessica if you or someone you know would be a good fit!
