Scottsdale named first Smart Cities Readiness Challenge Winner of 2022

The Smart Cities Council recently named Scottsdale the winner of the Smart Cities Readiness Challenge. The city will partner with a team of industry experts from across the world united by a common goal: Scaling Innovation. Key elements of the program include identifying technology solutions that meets the needs of residents, prioritizing processes that accelerate the deployment of solutions and integrating sound governance practices to promote community engagement and trust.

On April 6, the city will host a collaborative brainstorm event that engages city staff, community leaders, industry experts and more as they identify innovative smart city solutions to community challenges. This effort is consistent with the Scottsdale Smart City Strategic Roadmap which was accepted by the City Council in April 2021. Previous challenge winners include Nashville, Tennessee, Austin, Texas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Miami, Florida.

Be a part of the Scottsdale Tourism Strategic Plan's community survey

The city of Scottsdale, in partnership with Experience Scottsdale, is developing a Tourism Strategic Plan to determine and identify sustainable growth, expansion and management opportunities, while enhancing the city’s long-term quality of life for residents and visitors. In preparation, the city is conducting a survey about living, working, and playing in Scottsdale. The responses will help us better understand the community experience, as well as identify how we can protect, improve, and enhance Scottsdale’s economic prosperity.

This comes as the city also looks at their internal processes and audits city-owned facilities for maximum water conservation.
