Celebrating Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, the Cobbs Creek Foundation pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Charlie Sifford. This golf trailblazer, refined his craft at Cobbs Creek Golf Course—a welcoming haven for players of all backgrounds. Sifford’s passion for golf fueled his determination to shatter barriers, ultimately dismantling the PGA’s Caucasian-only clause. His remarkable journey, marked by achievements such as receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, played a pivotal role in transcending racial and societal divides within the realm of golf. While acknowledging the ongoing work ahead, we honor and appreciate the profound journey and lasting legacy crafted by Charlie Sifford.

Through our partnership with TGR Foundation, we’re proud to continue providing support for students in our community. As we make progress on the new TGR Learning Lab on our campus, our TGR Foundation local team and volunteers are building relationships and meeting our students’ needs through ongoing tutoring and community events. 

The next Community Fest will be held on Saturday, March 9th with a focus on activities and best practices to celebrate National Nutrition Month.
